Viewing the total space used by iPad 3 upgraded to IOS 6

I have upgraded my iPad 3 to IOS 6 few days back. Now, I felt that the performance of my iPad has slowed down slightly. I guess that its memory is being full as I have installed many applications in it. Is there any way available to check its current storage space?

As a first step, make a single press on the Home button reside at the bottom middle space of your iPad. Once you can view the home screen, navigate through the icons available over there and find out ‘Settings’ icon. While tapping on that icon, you can view a list of default settings options on the screen. Go through the options listed on the left pane and tap over the option labeled ‘General’. The list of general settings will be then pop up on the screen. Hit the ‘Usage’ option visible on that list. Then, you can view the total memory used by the iPad. It is also possible to view the space used by each application separately.
