There are two easy ways to do this...1. Use iTunes :You can use 9.1.1 to get the files on and off the iPad.when your iPad is connected to Mac and iTunes is open, select your iPad in the iTunes library and click on iTunes application tab. Scroll down the file sharing section and you will see a list of file sharing apps.choose any of them and use.2. Use Dropbox :Evenflow recently released a new version of the Dropbox. When you put files and folders on your Mac's Dropbox folder you will also see them in your iPad's Dropbox folder.Tap a file to open it in Dropbox and choose the application that will open it.Tap the send icon and the file will be sent.

You can transfer contents from your iMac to your iPad in many ways.
You can sync your iMac with your pc and transfer the files to your PC
Now sync your iPad with the pc and then transfer all the files that you have selected and moved to your computer.
Otherwise you can pair up both the devices by bluetooth and make sure that the connection is apt and then start moving the photos to your ipad.
Hope this will be helpful to you...............
