When I plug in my iPad 2 to PC and launch iTunes in it, I can find grayed out ‘Sync’ and ‘Apply’ buttons in iTunes screen. Due to that, I am not able to sync any type of iPad files with iTunes. What are the steps for making the buttons active again?

First of all, try to resolve the issue by re-installing iTunes on PC. Restart your PC if you can still find the issue. Another solution available to restore the original buttons is to reboot your iPad. For that, you need to first hold down the Sleep/Wake button until you can view red slider on the screen. It is possible to turn off your iPad by moving that slider. Press and hold the same button till the Apple Logo appears on the screen to power up the iPad. If you can resolve the issue after performing all these steps, restore your iPad using iTunes. For that, first select the device name under ‘Devices’ option in iTunes screen after connecting iPad with iTunes. Press the ‘Summary’ tab afterwards and click on ‘Restore’ button located at the bottom part of the screen.
