Is it possible to turn off auto-syncing temporarily after connecting iPad 2 with PC?

I have already enabled auto-syncing for my iPad 2 with iTunes. Therefore, whenever I connect my iPad 2 to PC, it will start to sync data by itself. I need to disable auto-syncing for a while after establishing the connection. How can I make it possible?

You can accomplish this with the keyboard of your iPad or PC. Once you connect the iPad with PC, launch iTunes in it. Then, make a single press on both ‘Option’ and ‘Command’ keys available on the iPad keyboard at the same time immediately and hold them for few seconds. If you want to use the keyboard with the PC, then hold down ‘Shift’ and ‘Control’ keys simultaneously. Wait for the moment when iPad become visible under iTunes side bar. After that, you can lift up your fingers from the keyboard. Finally, make sure that no files get synced automatically into your iPad.
