I tried to swipe through the web pages and tabs available on Safari in my iPad 2 with my fingers and found the feature is not responding at all. Is there any problem with my iPad or do I need to use either ‘Forward/Back’ button?

Yes safari is the best browser and default web browser that you can access faster internet through this safari. You can have a faster and a very good surfing experience with this use of safari software in your ipad.
You can have multiple options with this safari software. You have a chance to open the multiple Tabs in the safari web browser and then you can swipe those tabs with your fingers.
The faster internet and wifi also works very good with this safari browser. If it is failing to respond in your ipad then go to the web page settings and then turn on the multiple tabs option so that you can swipe them all the way through the surfing.
This is the best option for you to choose and enjoy with the browsing internet at your finger tips.
