How to Trace my Stolen iPad?

I was using iPad 3 but unfortunately someone had stolen my ipad. I have reported it to the police but nothing helped me.Now i want to know whether there is any way to trace my stolen iPad or not? If yes then how? Please provide full information about it..

All of these apps require you to actually HAVE the iPad in your possession. Why is everyone replying with these apps (like iHound) to the guy who has had his iPad stolen? They're useless. You could try sending a FaceTime message, but it's seriously unlikely anyone who just stole your iPad will give a flying pooh.

Thank you, I was thinking the same thing. The Ipad was stolen, How does he trace it? if he had those applications on it, he wouldn't be asking how to trace his iPad.
