Google search feature seems to be inactive on Safari browser in my iPad 2. It does not respond to any type of searching. Is there any way to restore it?

Re: Google search not working on Safari on iPad

You can use two type of google search engine on your browser.
    1. Google search appear on the Top of safari browser
    2. By entering URL for Google
One more thing that you can use two URL for google search as
you are living in india. That is
    1. www.google.com
    2. www.google.co.in
So first check that anyof the above are working or not. If all are not
working then you need to upgrade your Safari browser. After upgrade
your problem will be automatically solved.

    Hi
The way to restore the searching feature in the SAFARI browser is by restoring the browser itself.

You should uninstall the app first the, shut your iPad switched OFF for 5 minutes and after switching ON the iPad re-install SAFARI browser.

All the features will be restore and you will be able to search again.

    Try this ..

    Regards!!!

Re: Google search not working on Safari on iPad

You can't uninstall the Safari app from the iPad. It ships with it installed and therefore is part of the OS and can't be removed. That's not a solution to the problem. The Search feature, powered by Google and sanctioned by Apple, isn't working all of a sudden. Internet connection is perfect with a full wifi signal and it doesn't work on any wifi or 4g connection, visiting any website directly by entering the URL, including google.com, works perfectly. The only thing not working is when you enter a search term in the search field to the right of the URL field on the top of the browser. You can't turn this on or off but you can change to use Bing or Yahoo instead, both of which work flawlessly. It's only when you use the Google search, my prefered search engine, that it doesn't work, it simply tries to load the google search results page but never does.

If I had to guess this is a Google issue and probably something to do with security on their end. Any other insights are welcome.
