Getting error code 1604 while restoring iPad 2 with iTunes

I had set up a pass code for unlocking my iPad 2. As I forgot that pass code, I tried to restore the device for getting into the home screen of the iPad. But, I got an error message “restore could not be completed error 1604” in middle of restore process. What should I do to get rid of this error?

The first step required is to switch your device into Recovery Mode with the help of iTunes. Disconnect the USB cable from your iPad and leave the other end of the cable connected to USB port as such. Then, hold down the Sleep/Wake button on iPad and slide the red slider to turn off the device. Connect the USB cable again to iPad while pressing and holding the Home button. By the time you establish the connection, the device should be turned on. But, you need to hold the ‘Home’ button until the ‘Connect to iTunes’ label appears on the screen. Once you can view the ‘recovery mode’ alert, restore the device again and wait for the error. Then, click the ‘OK’ option on the prompt message. Quit and re-open iTunes after confirming that the device is already connected. Wait until the device is detected in Recovery Mode. After that, restore the device again and check whether it is possible to find the error code.

:: Don't worry first of all you need to use the latest iTunes software which is now released.

:: After installing the new iTunes apps you again need to restore your device from the backup.

:: So first connect your device to your computer.

:: Select your i Pad touch when it appears in iTunes under "Devices" section.

:: Now select the "Summary" tab in the iTunes.

:: Then select the "Restore" option.

:: When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the "Back Up" option.

:: This will solve the problem.
