Does the iPad after updating to 4.2 iOS offer landscape and portrait locking? What should I do for enabling this?

Screen orientation is a key feature of the iOS devices. With the retina display for the new iPad, the screen orientation has gained more importance. By upgrading the iPad to 4.2 the physical rotation switch on the iPad has been changed to a mute button. The rotation switch on the dock still offers the feature of screen orientation locking. The dock rotation switch will lock the current orientation of the iPad screen. This is different from the iPhone. When the iPhone is connected to the dock, the iPhone can be locked only in portrait mode.

Due to retina display Screen orientation has much more importance in iPad.
After updating the iPad, the physical rotation button is changed to mute by default.
But the screen orientation locked feature is offered by rotation button.
The current orientation of iPad can also be locked by the rotation switch.
If you have connected the iPhone to dock, then the portrait mode is locked in iPhone.
